Starting the New Year Encouraged in the Lord

As we bid farewell to another year and welcome the new one with open arms, it's essential to start the year encouraged in the Lord. The beginning of a new year is often accompanied by a sense of hope and anticipation. It's a time when we reflect on the past year, evaluate our accomplishments and failures, and set goals for the future.
However, amidst all the excitement and goal-setting, it's crucial to take a moment to pause and truly acknowledge God's hand on our lives. We may have faced challenges, heartaches, and disappointments throughout the year, but in the midst of it all, God remained in control and seated on His throne.
Looking back on the year, we can see how God's faithfulness carried us through even the most difficult times. It's easy to get caught up in the struggles and lose sight of the bigger picture. But when we take the time to reflect, we realize that God was with us every step of the way, guiding, protecting, and providing for us.
Starting the new year encouraged in the Lord means recognizing His sovereignty and trusting that He has a plan for our lives. It means surrendering our fears, worries, and doubts to Him, knowing that He is faithful to lead us on the right path.
As we embark on this new year, let's resolve to live each day dedicated to the Lord and His work. Let's become slaves to Jesus, willing to serve wherever He leads us, without being swayed by the opinions and judgments of others.
Living a life dedicated to the Lord means seeking His will above all else. It means stepping out in faith, even when it seems uncomfortable or uncertain. It means being obedient to His commands, even when they go against the norms of society.
When we choose to live for the Lord, we are freed from the burden of seeking approval from others. We no longer have to worry about what others think, say, or do. Our focus shifts from pleasing people to pleasing God.
Living for the Lord doesn't mean that life will be without challenges or hardships. In fact, Jesus Himself said, "In this world, you will have trouble" (John 16:33). But the difference lies in our perspective and our response to those challenges.
When we face difficulties, we can find strength and encouragement in knowing that God is with us. He is our refuge and strength, a very present help in times of trouble (Psalm 46:1). We can trust that He will never leave us nor forsake us (Deuteronomy 31:6).
Starting the new year encouraged in the Lord also means being intentional about our relationship with Him. It means setting aside time each day to seek His presence, to study His Word, and to pray. It means cultivating a heart of gratitude and praise, even in the midst of trials.
When we prioritize our relationship with God, we open ourselves up to His guidance, wisdom, and peace. We become more attuned to His voice and more receptive to His leading. We find comfort and reassurance in knowing that we are not alone on this journey.
As we step into this new year, let's encourage one another to start the year off right – encouraged in the Lord. Let's remind each other of God's faithfulness and goodness. Let's spur one another on to live lives dedicated to Him, serving wherever He leads us.
May this new year be a year of growth, transformation, and deepening our relationship with the Lord. May we find encouragement and strength in His presence. And may we have the courage to step out in faith, trusting that He will guide us every step of the way.
